Fitness Assessment and Orientation

Fitness Assessment:


All members are offered a complimentary fitness assessment to establish measurements of your current fitness levels. At this appointment you will meet with a Fitness Specialist who will help you with goal setting and putting together a plan for achieving those goals. The fitness assessment includes measurement of cardiovascular health, body composition, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, and a screening for total cholesterol. All new primary and associate members (over the age of 18) receive one free assessment with their membership. A completed fitness assessment is a requirement to participate in Fitness Orientation, personal training, or group personal training.

Senior Assessment:

All senior S.W.E.L.L. (seniors who exercise live longer) members receive one free senior fitness assessment with their membership. Senior fitness assessments focus on the abilities seniors need to live a productive and satisfying life.The senior assessment focuses on the needs of our members ages 60 years and over. Each assessment includes a balance, lower body strength, blood pressure, and flexibility screening. A signed medical clearance is required to sign up for the fitness assessment.

Important information:

It is the policy of Westview Healthplex Sports Club to have a completed PAR-Q on file and to obtain a medical clearance when necessary from each member’s primary care physician before beginning any fitness assessment. There is a $25 no show fee charged to any member who does not follow the fitness assessment cancellation policy. For more information please contact the fitness department at (317) 920-7419.

Fitness Orientation:

What is Fitness Orientation? Fitness Orientation conists of small group sessions intended to orient members to the fitness equipment and proper workout techniques to make workouts at Westview Healthplex Sports Club most effective.

What is included in Fitness Orientation?

At the Fitness University a personal trainer or fitness coach will teach you the basics to starting a strength training and cardio exercise program. Fitness Orientation is set up as small group sessions, and there are three sessions to choose from: strength, cardio, and Fitlinxx. The strength session will show you how to use basic weight training machines. The cardio session teaches the cardio equipment in the club, and the Fitlinxx session shows members how to track their workouts using the Fitlinxx system.

Who is eligible?
