Youth Programs

The Westview Healthplex is dedicated to providing quality youth programs for all ages and abilities. Classes include dance, karate, ballet, basketball, and strength and conditioning classes. Ballet

Students will learn basic ballet steps and increase strength, flexibility, and self discipline. Students will also increase their knowledge of spatial awareness and independent movement.

Beginner Karate

Tumbling, Karate and Dance Recital

Join us for our semi-annual recital of all our performance programs.  Recital will take place the week of April 26.  Time and location will be announced at a later date.  All instructors will prepare the students for this recital.  Participants must participate in Winter II sessions in order to perform at the recital.  Contact Minor Leaguers with any questions

Topsy Turvy

Start Smart

Soccer

Start Smart Soccer is a developmentally appropriate introductory soccer program for children 3-5 years old.  The program prepares children for organized soccer without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt.  Age appropriate soccer equipment is used to teach kicking, dribbling, trapping, throw ins and agility.

Baseball

Start Smart Baseball is a developmentally appropriate introductory baseball program for children 3-5 years old. The program prepares children for organized tee ball, baseball and softball in a fun non-threatening environment. Start Smart Baseball prepares children and their parents for organized baseball and softball without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Age appropriate equipment from Franklin Sports® and Hasbro® is used in teaching throwing, catching, batting, running and agility.

Children’s Fitness

Mileage Club

Does your child like to run?  Join our NEW children’s running club and your children will work on the fundamentals of running along with working toward different milestones in running.  We will be working toward the Chase 500 Festival Rookie Run on May 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.  A $5 fee will be charged to participate in the Rookie Run.  First Running class will be on January 11.

YogaFit Kids

YogaFit Kids combines yoga and play and it is the perfect form of exercise for youths of all ages. Children are natural yogis because their joints are pliable and muscles are flexible. These classes encourage kids to explore their natural flexibility and become stronger through natural and functional movement using their own body weight.

Lil Yogis (Ages 3-6)

This 30 minute YogaFit Kids class teaches participants and their parents to love mindful movement, teaches them to feel a stretch in their bodies and learn the basic forms of YogaFit poses. Each participant will have fun and use their imagination.

Fit Kids

Are you coming in to workout and aren’t sure what to do with the kids?  Put them in Fit Kids so they can have fun and workout while you are working out.  Fit Kids is designed for children ages 6-12.  This program will introduce kids to a variety of activities including but not limited to sports, cardio training and core strength training.

Safe Sitter Basic

Safe Sitter is a medically accurate program that teaches bys and girls ages 11 and older how to handle emergencies when caring for children.  This class teaches safe and nurturing child care techniques, behavior management skills , and appropriate responses to medical emergencies.  Upon completion of this class the participant will receive a Safe Sitter manual and completion card.  Please bring your lunch, drink and any snacks that you will want for the day.  This class does not include CPR.

Safe Sitter 2 day training

Safe Sitter® is a 12 ½-hour expanded curriculum designed for comprehensive coverage. It includes all topics covered in Safe Sitter® Basic plus Infant and Child CPR, Toddler/Preschool Guest, more in-class practice time and expanded information on Preventing Injuries and Behavior Management.

Master Chefs

Children’s Parties

Next time you are planning a party of any kind, let the Westview Healthplex do all of the work for you.  We provide the room, activities, food, plates, drinks, and even picking the cake for you! Choose from one of our three packages that best suits your party needs. Each package offers an hour and a half in our party room with 1 or 2 party hostesses to assist you and your party guests.  We will also provide balloons and invitations.  Depending on which party package you choose, your party guests will be able to choose from a variety of activities in our sports club such as swimming, basketball, crafts or tumbling. In addition to the packages, you may choose to have catering at your event from our courtside café.  You will also be able to order a cake for your occasion, just let us know what flavor of cake you would like and we will order it, and pick it up for the party!  We offer parties on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11am to 7pm.

There is a maximum of 16 party guests; however, you may add additional guests for $10.
